Biography
Music has always been a passion, an outlet, and has been something I have always been able to fall back on. When I auditioned for college, I had no idea what I wanted to major in. I talked with the my band director about it, and I thought music would be fun.
I attended Tyler Junior College where I received my Associates in Music. I then transferred to Northwestern State University, where I received my Bachelor's Degree in Music Education, and my Masters Degree in Music. I hold a certification in K-12 Music from the state of Texas.
I am about to begin my tenth year in teacher all here at West.
I have been with my lovely wife, Paige Dorsey, since 2002, and I have two boys, Eli and Owen.
My number one goal for my students is always try, and be the best they can be at all times. I want the kids to embrace that being in band is like having a gigantic family. The more we come together and take care of our individual responsibilities, the better we as a whole will be.
