District Updates and Reminders

• New Grading Period: The second nine-weeks grading period of the year begins today, Tuesday, October 21, 2025. Report Card 1 will go live in Skyward this Thursday, October 23, 2025. 
• Early Voting and Election Day: Remember, Early Voting started yesterday, Monday, October 20, 2025, and runs through next Friday, October 31, 2025. Election Day is Tuesday, November 4, 2025. For West ISD, Justin Mechell (Place 6) and Natalie Kelinske (Place 7) are running unopposed for the two West ISD Board positions. 
• Unity Day: National Unity Day in support of bully-proofing schools across the nation is tomorrow, Wednesday, October 22, 2025. Our hope is that everyone will wear orange in support of this most important initiative. 
• Kiwanis Club of West Pancake Supper: This Thursday night, October 23, 2025, is the annual Kiwanis Club of West Pancake Supper from 5:00-7:00 PM at the West Community Center. Tickets (at the door) are $10. Proceeds from this event go to Class of 2026 Senior Scholarships. Also, our West High School Key Club members will be the servers. 
• Red Ribbon Week: West ISD's Red Ribbon Week is set for next Monday, October 27, through Friday, October 31, 2025. Here are the spirit dress day themes:
  • Monday, October 27: Catch that Drug-Free Wave! - Hawaiian/Beach/Surfer
  • Tuesday, October 28: I'm Red Carpet, Red Ribbon Ready! - Hollywood/Movie Star Glam
  • Wednesday, October 29: Keep Drugs Out of this World! - Space/NASA/Astronaut
  • Thursday, October 30: Don't Let Drugs Find You! - Camouflage 
  • Friday, October 31: Say "Boo" to Drugs - Halloween Costumes (no masks or scary costumes)
• Thanksgiving Break: The Thanksgiving holiday dates are Monday, November 24, through Friday, November 28, 2025.
