I've been in education for 26 years, with the past 10 years as a Dyslexia Interventionist after 16 years teaching first grade. In my current role, I coach students in grades 6-12 in reading, spelling and writing. I love helping students see the magic in reading, and I hope to inspire them to become lifelong readers who love to learn just as much as I do.
I graduated from West High School and Baylor University. I have a daughter Kennedy, who graduated from Texas Tech and my son, Grant, is in Tenth Grade. I also have two kitties, Roxie and Millie. I am a huge fan of reading fiction novels, which I find is a great way to relax and unwind. I also enjoy cooking and spending time in my garden. I look forward to getting to know your children and sharing some of my love for reading and the natural world with them.
Besides being an avid reader, I am definitely a Swiftie! I have been to multiple concerts with my daughter over the past decade.
I believe a classroom should be a place where every student feels understood, respected, and empowered to be themselves. When students feel safe, they are free to take risks, ask questions, and truly engage in their learning.
