This is my eighth year at West ISD and my 25th year in education. I currently teach 6th grade science, but I have experience teaching all sixth grade subjects and have also taught both seventh and eighth grade science as well. Teaching science is my passion, and I find great joy in helping students explore the world around them and develop a deeper understanding of scientific concepts.
Outside of school, my husband and I have two amazing sons who are both Instrumentation Technicians. When I'm not in the classroom, I enjoy spending time with my family and our two dogs, a standard poodle and a yorkie. My hobbies include sports cars, gardening, and camping, which gives me a chance to relax and enjoy the outdoors.
Fun Fact: I am a fan of manual transmissions, having owned four standard vehicles, including the Camaro I drove in high school and the one I drive now.
My educational philosophy is inspired by Steve Prefontaine's quote, "Success isn't how far you got, but the distance you traveled from where you started." I believe that true success in the classroom isn't just about the final grade, but about the progress and personal growth each student makes on their own unique journey. I'm dedicated to helping students overcome challenges, celebrate their personal achievements, and recognize that their effort and growth are the ultimate measures of success.
