I have been in education for 15 years and teach 6th grade RLA. I sponsor our West Middle School Spirit Squad and co-sponsor the West Middle School Student Council. I also coach UIL Dictionary Skills.
My husband, Brian, and I have been married for 21 years. We have two amazing sons, Miller and Bryce. Miller is a senior at Texas A&M University and Bryce is a senior at West High School. I enjoy cooking, reading, traveling, hunting, fishing, and listening to true crime podcasts.
My favorite movie is Steel Magnolias.
Fun Fact: I had the incredible honor of running the Olympic torch through Navasota, TX for the 1996 Summer Olympics in Atlanta, GA.
My goal is to create and foster a positive, safe and inclusive classroom environment where students are able to express and apply their learning through written and spoken means. I also hope to foster a love for reading by encouraging students to explore and read various genres based on their interests and experiences.
