2026-2027 Staff News: Trading Spaces

• West High School Baseball: A familiar face will be stepping in again in the role of Head Baseball Coach at West High School. Coach David Young previously served as the Interim Head Coach for the 2024-2025 school year and Assistant Coach in 2023-2024 and 2025-2026. Previously, Coach Young was a part of the baseball coaching staff at Red Oak High School in Red Oak ISD along with other stops in Terrell ISD and McGregor ISD. Coach Young brings experience, stability, servant leadership, and familiarity with the players, program, and families to this most important position. 
• West Middle School Assistant Principal: Another familiar face will be stepping into a new role for the upcoming school year. Mrs. Taylor Ruesch will now serve as the new West Middle School Assistant Principal moving from her previous role as a West Middle School Science Teacher and West High School Coach. In her new role, Mrs. Ruesch will strive to be approachable, collaborative, and supportive of the West Middle School staff, students, and families. 

Recent FFA State Conference Accolades

• Karsen Fuessel received her Lonestar Degree. This honor is the highest degree an FFA member can receive in Texas. 
• Layn Claxton competed in the Texas FFA Rodeo and is the Texas FFA Bareback Riding Champion. He received a $1,000 Scholarship.
