’Twas the Night Before School Starts

West Middle School

’Twas the night before school starts, and all through West,

Our Trojans were tucked in, trying their best.

The backpacks were waiting by each front door,

Filled up with supplies—and maybe some more!

The students were dreaming of friends they would see,

New teachers, new classes, and who they would be.

While parents were thinking, “How did summer fly by?”

And maybe wiping a tear from the corner of an eye.

The halls of West Middle School were shiny and bright,

The classrooms were ready and everything just right.

Teachers had worked hard, preparing with care,

Excited for Trojans to soon fill the air!

New shoes were laid out, first-day outfits picked,

Alarm clocks were set and backpacks were zipped.

Then morning would come with the Texas sunrise,

And sleepy young Trojans would open their eyes.

Pictures would be taken before heading away,

Because you have to remember that first school day!

Then off through the town of West they would go,

Ready to learn, make memories, and grow.

So rest up, Trojans—the time is almost here!

A brand-new adventure, a brand-new school year.
