District Updates
  • Progress Report 2 (SIX WEEKS GRADE CHECK): The first grade check for eligibility purposes is next Friday September 18, 2026. Progress Report 2 will then be published in Skyward on Monday, September 21, 2026.
  • 9/11 Patriot Day: This Friday, September 11, 2026, marks the 25th anniversary of the September 11, 2001 attacks. West ISD will pause to remember the lives lost on 9/11, honor the courage and sacrifice of the first responders who ran toward danger, and reaffirm the unity, resilience, and freedom that define our nation.
  • West Education Foundation Casino Night: This new special evening of fun is set for Saturday, October 3, 2026, 6:00 PM at the KC Hall. For information on how to purchase tickets, please see the flyers on the district's social media pages.
  • Homecoming: The 2026 West High School Homecoming game is set for Friday, October 9, 2026, versus Mexia High School, at 7:00 PM at Trojan Field.
  • Fall Break: The 2026 Fall Break is Monday, October 12, through Friday, October 16, 2026. All students also have off Monday, October 19, 2026 (staff work/conference day).
  • UIL Fan Behavior Policy: Under Texas Senate Bill (SB) 2929, game and University Interscholastic League (UIL) officials can now immediately eject unruly or disruptive spectators from athletic events without issuing a prior warning. Ejected fans must then leave immediately, the decision is final, and schools face a strict three-strike limit before losing host-officials privileges. The district then is required to add a suspension period. Let's all come to the games and cheer on the Trojans and Lady Trojans!
  • STOPit Safety and Bully Reporting System: STOPit is the district's anonymous incident reporting system for students and parents for all safety and bully reporting needs. STOPit has an app feature you can download or the link is saved on your student's Chromebook main login page or the West ISD website (first button on the first row of the page).
  • Staff Shoutouts - Thank a Trojan or Lady Trojan: West ISD loves hearing about our amazing employees! From our bus drivers and office staff to principals, custodians, teachers, and more - our Trojan and Lady Trojan Nation consists of the best of the best. This certification affirms that West ISD has adopted and implemented the policies and procedures required by state law regarding prohibited Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI) activities, instructional requirements, employee and contractor notification, and other statutory provisions established under SB 12.
  • Former West Elementary School Land: Just a reminder that the district is currently not reviewing or considering any proposals for the land. Also, please remember the window for the district to receive sealed-bid proposals is not even open or scheduled to open again. A Race Trac(k) travel center/gas station is not coming to this site. Previously, the district had mentioned scheduling a Town Hall time with the West City Council to discuss possible future uses of this property. Mayor Nors has confirmed Wednesday, September 23, 2026, at 6:00 PM at the KC Hall as the proposed date for this event.
